At 9:00 am on my first day at Reflect Digital, I walked into music playing in the background, colourful walls, bean bags, and a team chatting like old friends. Within minutes, I wasn’t treated like ‘the work experience student’, I was treated like part of the team.
Over the week, I shadowed across SEO, context, behavioural science, data, paid media, and growth. What surprised me most wasn’t just the variety of skills, but also how everything connected together.
I started with Amelia in SEO, who explained what SEO is and how it works. She gave me small tasks that let me try it myself, like editing meta titles and descriptions, fixing website errors, and adjusting internal links. It was hands-on and made me realise how much strategy and detail that goes into making a website visible.
Later, Ella showed me the structure of a blog and let me try writing one myself. I quickly understood that good content isn’t just about words, it’s about guiding readers naturally and making information easy to digest.
With Ariane, I learned how behavioural science is used to influence decisions online. I analysed a website to see what nudges were in place and compared it to competitors, it was fascinating to see psychology applied so practically.
Then, with Ed, I saw how data links everything together. He showed me how insights can influence decisions. It made me realise marketing isn’t guesswork; it’s about using real data to create measurable impact.
Wednesday was team day. Instead of normal work, everyone collaborated on fun challenges and gave presentations.
On my last day, Prince introduced me to paid media. I tried analysing how nudges were used in ads and websites, and thought about ways to improve them. With Hannah in Growth, I learned that growth is about working closely with clients and coordinating internally with different teams to make sure everything runs smoothly.
This week at Reflect Digital wasn’t just about learning marketing; it was about seeing how a team really works together. Everyone was welcoming, patient, and happy to show me what they do, from SEO to paid media. The office isn’t just a place to work; it’s colourful, relaxed, and full of energy, where ideas flow easily, and people genuinely enjoy helping each other.
What stood out most was how much the team cares about their work, about the users they’re helping, and about each other. I came in expecting a formal, quiet office, but I left inspired by a company that makes learning, collaborating, and creating exciting every day. Reflect Digital isn’t just a marketing agency; it’s a place that shows how fun, supportive, and effective work can really be.
